HARA (Hyper Amplification Radiant Array) एक advanced directed-energy weapon (DEW) prototype है, जिसे Indian aerospace और defence startup Carbine Systems ने develop किया है।
यह India की पहली high-power laser weapons में से एक है, जिसे किसी private Indian company ने बनाया है। HARA Mk 1 नाम का यह system 10 kW-class high-energy laser पर based है, जो short-range में targets को बहुत ही accurately engage करने के लिए design किया गया है।
यह system electrical power generate करके उसे एक coherent और tightly focused laser beam में convert करता है, जो speed of light से travel करके target को heat, damage या disable कर सकता है, और advanced tracking systems target की movement के बावजूद laser को उस पर lock करके रखते हैं।
Traditional kinetic weapons के मुकाबले HARA ammunition पर depend नहीं करता, बल्कि intense heat और energy concentration का use करता है, जिससे silent operation, fast retargeting और low per-shot cost possible होता है।
10 kW laser खास तौर पर counter-drone operations, छोटे aerial threats को neutralise करने और short-range air defence के लिए suitable है, साथ ही इसमें high precision होती है और collateral damage भी कम होता है, हालांकि fog, rain या smoke जैसी weather conditions इसकी performance को affect कर सकती हैं।
Overall, HARA Mk 1 India के indigenous laser weapon development में एक बड़ा milestone है और यह दिखाता है कि private startups अब next-generation defence technologies में भी महत्वपूर्ण role निभा रहे हैं।
